Two months ago I submitted to the Sketchbook Project’s: the “Dreadful” Project.  It was a free contest supported by Showtime and their new series “Penny Dreadful.” Basically they send you a card where you sketch in “a little piece of your own horror tale, inspired by the theme In the Shadows.”

The contest has 1,000 applicants. Selected artwork might be featured in The New Yorker and online.

I doubt I’d make it near the top, but I am happy to have participated. It pushed me to create something outside of my norm, subject-wise.

Anyways, here are the in-progress photos of my artwork. I will show the final illustration in my next post!
