So…last weekend I was part of the Arboretum Arts Festival here in Canada’s capital:
Arboretum Arts is Ottawa’s newest boutique music and arts festival now entering its 2nd knuckle-biting year. Inspired by progressive arts festivals around the world, we’re a carefully curated, intimate, community-driven festival highlighting the best in local music, food and arts. (arboretumfestival.com/about/)
It was amazing! I did not know what to expect when a few months back they accepted my video/music submission. I was surprised that my little music animation made it in as I did it quite a NUMBER of years ago! (If curious you can watch it here, it is called “Fish.”) When I arrived at the event, VIP wristband on, I found out that they were projecting it onto one of the historic walls of Arts Court, just next to the main stage where the musical acts would be performing:
Overall, it was very exciting. I felt the atmosphere got better as the night continued. Delicious food vendors and incredible live performers (like…OWEN PALLETT – Yay! All the musicians were so good live!) Can’t wait until next year! Artists of any genre, I recommend checking out this festival to see if you can participate next year. This event is not to be missed by any art, music, craft, and/or food enthusiasts!
Oh and here’s some not so great shots of my video, titled “Fish,” being projected : P Gotta say I got really self conscious when it went on…in public. ahh Maybe I can come up with something new for next year? We’ll see!
