I hope you’re doing well! If you are looking for a creative activity, starting this month I have short courses (4-5 lessons each) currently taking registrations. All are online. Share away if you know anyone who may be interested in trying a class out. These shorter ones are perfect for that:

Painting with Primaries, Landscape in Watercolour, and Exploring drawing and watercolour!

Painting with Primaries is a bit low on registrations currently – fingers crossed a few more register soon! In this class we learn the ins and outs of colour theory to give students an understanding of how to mix and create the colours they want. I teach this class using step-by-step exercises and pretty paintings (in watercolours)! Exploring drawing and watercolour on the other hand changes art projects every time it runs! This round will focus on spring themed artworks: daffodils, Monet inspired landscapes, honey bees, flowers and more! A bonus is that this one comes with class recordings! Full course descriptions and links to registration are listed below:

Exploring drawing and painting, adult – virtual
Each time this course runs, new themes and projects are introduced as we express our creativity in this introductory visual art class! Lessons explore different drawing and/or painting techniques by completing a finished artwork! All levels are welcome! Supplies: Pencil and paper for the first day and watercolors introduced afterwards. Can’t attend the live meeting? A recording of each class will be shared with everyone registered to watch for the first time or to re-watch. Offered live online via Zoom with Dovercourt Recreation.

VIRTUAL ART CLASSES OFFERED with the City of Ottawa are listed below (Note: These classes are not recorded, but adult classes come with lesson notes)

Painting – Painting with Primaries – Virtual – Adult

Come learn about colour mixing and colour theory with this painting class where we only use three colours: red, blue and yellow. Paint simple but striking scenes and see how far these primary colours can go. Requires a personal electronic device with internet connection. Offered online via Zoom with the City of Ottawa.
This class is taught using watercolours.
